Wales under 16s finished a creditable 2nd behind a very strong England team. Wales started with an excellent 16 - 2 win over Northern Ireland. In the second match, Tomos Vedmore was Wales saviour. Trailing Rep. Ireland 8 - 4 at one stage it looked like we were in for a beating , but the Welsh lads responded well. Eventually we needed the last 3 frames for the match. With all the pressure on his shoulders Tomos, in his first home international event, produced some superb match play snooker to secure a 10 - 8 win for Wales.

Edward Topham also played superbly throughout the event winning 4 out of 5 matches and dropping only 3 frames. Jak Jones was his usual consistent self. He won 4 out of 5 despite playing with a new cue.

Wales Under 19’s were disappointing overall. Only Robert Ford and Kristian Phelps had represented Wales before and this inexperience showed throughout. Robert Ford looked dangerous in patches as did Jamie Tudor. Daniel Norris also had some good results in his first international series. However the lack of consistency overall meant Wales could only manage 5th place in this age category.
