Welsh Under 14´s Championship / Morriston Snooker Club

Swansea's Ieuan Davies became the Welsh Under 14’s Champion by winning this event. This was Ieuan's third win out of four events at Under 14’s level this season. A result that ensures his No. 1 position on the ranking list as well as the title of Welsh Under 14’s Champion.

Rhydian Stringer (Barry) finally showed his true potential by reaching the final where he just failed to produce the good for he had showed all day. After winning the 1st frame he was not quite able to make the most of his chances as Ieuan wrapped up the match by 3 – 1.

Ryan Rowlands (Barry) and Jac Wathan (Swansea) showed they are adding consistency to their undoubted talent by reaching the semi finals.

The Plate

The plate event was won by Bridgend's Brandon Huntley who defeated Swansea's Iestyn Thomas in the final by 3-1.

This was the final event on the under 14s calendar and so the welsh under 14s international team to play Ireland in June can be announced:

Welsh Under 14´s Event 3 / Red Triangle Snooker Club
Under 14's

Top ranked Under 14’s player Ieuan Davies (Swansea) showed his class by coming through to win this event. This was Ieuan's second under 14s triumph of the season.

He was given a fright by the ever improving Suraj Singh (Cardiff) in the quarter final, finally winning 2 – 1 after losing the first frame.

Jac Wathan (Swansea) reached his first final of the season, overcoming the consistent Brandon Davies in a very close semi final by 2 - 1.

The final was a much closer affair than the scoreline suggests with two frames being decided on the black.

The Plate

The Plate event was won by Lewis Burke (Bridgend) who defeated Zack Jones (Caerphilly) 2 - 0 in the final. Lewis also won the plate in the Under 14’s ranking event No. 2.

There is just one event, The Under 14’s Championship left to play before the Welsh Under 14’s. International team to play Republic of Ireland is finalised. Points and a half are awarded for the final event so several players are still well placed to jump into contention.

Welsh Under 14´s Event 1 / Morriston Snooker Club / 8 November 2009

Many new faces were in this first Under 14's event but it was that old stalwart Ieuan Davies who showed his experience by coming through to the final, where he defeated fellow Under 14's. international Ryan Rowlands in a close match which ended 3 – 2.

In the semi final Ieuan was given a fright by the improving Brandon Davies. Mitchell Dyke did extremely well to reach the other semi final in his first junior ranking event. Other youngsters to impress included Taylor Morgan, Jac Wathen and Travis Furnish.

The Under 14's This season promises to be very competitive with several newcomers ready to challenge the more established performers.

Newcomer Alfie Davies won “the plate” defeating Under 14's international Suraj Singh in the semi final before running out a 2 – 0 winner over Iestyn Thomas in the final.
