Welsh Under 19´s Event 1 / Rileys Wellington, Cardiff / 1 November 2009

Jak Jones made it two out of two wins in junior ranking events this season when he won this first Under 19's event to go with the Under 21's. triumph he had last month. His opponent in the final was the same as the Under 21’s final Jamie Clarke.

Jamie got off to a flyer taking the first two frames, but Jak is now adding grit and determination to his undoubted natural talent and he fought back to level at 2 - 2. In the decider Jamie looked to have the match won but a slightly unkind run of the ball gave Jak the opportunity to clear the last three balls to win on the black for his second successive ranking event success.

Winner of Under 16’s Event 1 Thomas Rees again showed what a good prospect he is by reaching the semi final, defeating junior internationals Daniel Norris and Dean Jones on the way.

Duane Jones made a superb 100 break in the deciding frame to beat fellow international Kishan Hirani in their quarter final.

Quarter Finals

Jak Jones 2 - 1 Dale Lawrence
Thomas Rees 2 - 1 Daniel Norris
Jamie Clarke 2 – 0 Kristian Phelps
Duane Jones 2 – 1 Kishan Hirani

Semi Finals

Jak Jones 2 – 1 Thomas Rees
Jamie Clarke 2 – 1 Duane Jones

Final

Jak Jones 3 – 2 Jamie Clarke

Plate Final

It was two out of two again as David Huxton won his second plate event. He overcame Rhys Thomas 2 – 0 in the final.
