Duane Jones (Mountain Ash) jumped to the top of the Under 21’s ranking list by winning this the third event of the season.
In the final he defeated Cardiff's Kishan Hirani 3-2. This was Kishan's best result in a junior tournament for some time and he could have won it. In the final frame Kishan had the first real chance but could not capitalise on it. He then had to sit back as Duane compiled a frame and match winning break of 82.
Edward Topham (cardiff) had a good tournament, reaching the semi final with excellent wins over Tom Rees, Ben Jones and No. 1 seed Jamie Clarke.

Welsh Under 21´s Event 2 / Morriston Snooker Club / 29 November 2009
Duane Jones after a near miss in the last Under 19's event came good this time to win his first junior tournament of the season. In the final he overcame the challenge of fellow junior international Jamie Clarke by 3 - 1.
Jamie had a funny tournament in some ways. He scraped through on the black in his semi final against Kishan Hirani after both players had made nice 71 breaks. In the quarter final he finally triumphed over Twm Sion Jones on a respotted black. His quarter final against Tomos Vedmore saw him make a tremendous break of 139. This I believe, is the highest break ever made in a Welsh junior event. Great stuff Jamie, well done.
Duane Jones had showed his class by cruising through to the final without dropping a frame, beating internationals Kristian Phelps, Edward Topham and Ben Jones along the way.
