Welsh Billiards & Snooker Association Website
The Coaching Foundation works very closely with the W.B.S.A. in the organising and running of the Welsh Junior Snooker Academy. Junior clubs and coaching classes are organised by our coaches in most areas of Wales.
Young players are taught the basic techniques of the game and gradually introduced to competitive snooker through local junior club competitions and friendly matches. Only when they feel ready, are they encouraged to enter Welsh junior tournaments.
Welsh junior tournaments are played at Under 14, 16, and 19 level. A series of 4 ranking tournaments for each age group, with the top players from each being chosen to represent Wales in various international events such as the Home International Championships, The Celtic Challenge, World and European Championships. There is also Welsh Under 21 Championship. The Winner and Runner up then going on to compete for Wales in the World Under 21 Championship.
