Morgan makes it 5/5 in the Welsh Masters 2013

Darren Morgan made it five out of five for the season when he won the Masters’ European qualifying event at Trecenydd Snooker Centre and moves on to Poland next month to defend his European crown.

Morgan steamrollered his way to victory with wins over Keith Thomas, Wayne Morgan and Masters “new boy” Gavin Lewis without losing a frame.

Lewis had comfortable wins over Bryn Devonald, David Parker and Ian Sargeant on his way reach the final.

There were notable performances from Simon Morgan and Jon Perring.

Morgan beat Derrick Hadigate and Neil Tomkins while Perring had wins over three tough opponents in Byron Phillips, Byron Sage and Andrew Isitt.

The final event of the season takes place at Snooker World, Ammanford on May 5th. Darren Morgan and Ian Sargeant are already certain to be in the Welsh team for the Home Internationals in August but the remaining places are up for grabs with only thirty points separating the next five players on the ranking list. Two Masters teams will travel to  Leeds in August for the event.
