UK Anti Doping
The Welsh Billiards and Snooker Association is committed to clean sports and has long been operationg under the auspices of the World Anti Doping Agency policies.
In recent years UK Anti Doping has been set up and we are required to submit implementation plans and provide education on the subject of substance abuse.
All players are required to read and accept the terms of the UKAD policy. As our future funding is conditional upon this, failure to accept the confines of the documentation is grounds for removal from events until such acceptance is forthcoming. Breeches of the terms of the documentation will lead to immediate suspension of membership and exclusion from competitions until the situation is rectified.
The anti-doping rules of the Welsh Billiards and Snooker Association (W.B.S.A.) are the rules published by UK Anti-Doping (or its successor), as amended from time to time. If you are a member of the W.B.S.A.then the anti-doping rules apply to you, regardless of what level you participate at. You can find the UK Anti-Doping Rules here.
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has now published the 2022 Prohibited List, available on the WADA website https://www.wada-ama.org/en/media/news/2021-09/wada-publishes-2022-prohibited-list. The Prohibited List identifies which substances and methods are prohibited at all times, in-competition only, and within specific sports.
Whilst the above may sound draconian, as detailed above our funding relies upon player compliance and we have been operating under similar controls for several seasons without incident.
Should any member feel they do not wish to compete under these regulations, they may relinquish their membership and withdraw from all future competitions by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
