Stringer wins his first Under 16's event this season

Rhydian Stringer won this second under 16s event of the season, beating the ever improving Jack Martin in an excellent final.

Rhydian reached the final with a good semi final win over the impressive Tylor Rees, while in the other semi final Jack played almost faultless snooker to defeat No.1 seed Suraj Singh.

The final saw both players playing good snooker with just the odd mistake thrown in to keep it interesting. With the score nicely poised at 2-2 it was Rhydian who got in to compile a very nice break of 56 which took him over the winning line.

This win moves Rhydian Stringer up to top spot on the ranking list with 490 points, followed by Suraj Singh 430, Jack Martin 360, Tyler Rees 210, Lewis Samuel 210, Jackson Page 200.

With two events left on the calendar there are still plenty of players who can stake a claim for Welsh team places.
