Welsh Under 19's Event One

Duane Jones was his normal efficient self as he emerged triumphant from this first under 19s event of the season.

His quarter final against fellow junior international Jamie Clarke was a superb quality match with Jamie opening with a break of 102 only for Duane to reply with one of 108. A scrappier decider went Duanes way allowing him to slip into the semi final where he overcame another junior international Callum Lloyd.

In the bottom half of the draw the very talented Tom Rees carved his way through to the semi final beating junior internationals Kishan Hirani and Nathan Patten along the way. However his run was halted by the more experienced Kristian Phelps, himself a junior international who has represented Wales at under 14, under 16, and under 19 level.

Again it was the steady efficiency of Duane Jones that won the day. Aided by a break of 62 he took his first ranking event win of the season by 3 frames to 1.

The Plate

Joshua Jordan (Swansea) won his second plate event of the season defeating Barry's Rhydian Stringer in the final by 2 frames to 1.
