It is with great sadness that Welsh Snooker reports the death of former Welsh International, Robert Harrhy from Newport, after losing a hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 47.

Robert started playing snooker at 17 after making a name for himself on the Welsh pool circuit. In 1991, he reached the final of the Welsh Championship, represented Wales at the home internationals and turned professional. He competed against the game’s best players until 2000, before retiring from tournament play to focus on his business ventures including the popular Pockets Snooker Centre in Newport.

A hugely popular player, Robert will be sadly missed by all who knew him and the thoughts of everyone associated with Welsh Snooker are with his family and friends at this sad time.
