Topham wins Welsh Under 21's Event Five beating Tom Rees

Edward Topham (Cardiff) played some of his best snooker to win Under 21's Event 5 at Penarth Snooker Club beating Tom Rees (Swansea) by three frames to nil in the final.

Tom races to the top of the rankings after Sam Thomas (Barry) was beaten by rising star Tyler Rees (Llanelli) in the quarter-final.

At two frames each it looked as if the fifteen yearold was going to pull off another shock in the semi-final until Topham showed his experience to prevail in the decider.

Next month Tom and Sam travel to the Arab emirate ofAl Fujeirah to represent Wales at the World Under 21's Championship previously won by Ronnie O'Sullivan, Neil Robertson and Ding Junhui.
