Daniel Wells is the 2011 Coors Brewers Welsh Champion after defeating David John by eight frames to four at the Terry Griffiths Matchroom on Sunday night.

Welsh Snooker Final - Daniel Wells V David JohnAfter losing the first frame Wells reeled off the next five frames before John stopped the rot by winning the seventh. There was a big turning point in the match when he went in-off the re-spotted black in the eighth. He recovered to win frame nine with breaks of 52 and 38, also frame ten to make the match interesting at six frames to four to Wells.

John looked odds-on to land frame eleven when he missed a simple red to let Wells in to clear up and need just one frame for victory.

He won the very next frame with breaks of 37 and 53 to crown a great season for the young Neath cueist who now joins the Main Professional Tour later this year.
