Welsh Under 16s Event One

Penarth Road Cardiff was the venue for the opening round of the 2015-2016 Welsh Under 16s.

The standard from semis was very high indeed. The shock of day was Jackson Page losing 3-2 to Dylan Emery. Then a cracking semi played out between Alfie Davies and Dylan, Alfie lost 3-2 but was unlucky with Dyaln fluking the black to make it 2-2 then Alfie lost the decider on the black. In the other semi Callum Matthews beat Bradley Ferguson 3-0.

The final was a very high standard and a pleasure to referee. Both players playing attacking snooker. Callum got off to good start but Dylan went 2-1 up. Callum then made a lovely 51 to force decider. The decider was a close affair but Callum pounced on a mistake by Dylan and ran out a worthy winner. The match was played in great spirits and we are sure this will not be the last final they play against each other.
