IBSF World Championships - Update

The group stages are well underway and all Welsh players are in fine form and doing a grand job of flying the flag.

In the Mens competition Alex Taubman found himself on a maximum break in his second match, sinking 15 reds and blacks before finding himself needing a long and difficult yellow, the break finishing at 120. Alex is second in Group U with 3 wins from 4 matches. Ben Jones also lies second in his group (S) after winning 3 of 4 matches, however strong wins see his frame difference at +8 and a decent 107 break under his belt. Jamie Clarke has had to dig deep in Group W, joint second his reward from 3 wins out of 4. Rhydian Richards hasn't let the side down either, once again second in Group M with a famiar 3 wins form 4 games.

The Masters tournament has seen similarly good fortunes for our players. Darren Morgan heads Group G having only lost a single frame in 4 matches and lies second in the breaks table with a 117. Ian Sargent is second in Group C by virtue of having lost one more frame than Moosa Saleem of Mauritius but both being 3 wins from 4. Jon Perring is third in Group P, 2 wins from 3 and one more match to come. Wayne Morgan should finish third in Group K, 2 wins from 4 being the reward fo his efforts.
