Mens Event Three - Qualifying Round Results

This weekend has seen Event Three played out across three venues, North and South.

The tournament kicked off at Brackla on Saturday morning, with Sam Thomas and Kishan Hirani qualifying for next week's Finals. Kishan Hirani played solidly throughout with breaks of 95 and 75 against Ryan Rowlands and beat Mark Stoneman to qualify with breaks of 75 and 60. Sam Thomas was in fluent form with a break of 115 and beat Jak Jones in an extremely close match 3-2. Jak had previously had the highest break of the day with 135. Mention must be made of the talented youngster,Jackson Page who made a break of 104 in his match against Mark Stoneman but succumbed to his experienced opponent. Excellent display of snooker all day. 

Sunday saw North and West play their rounds at Ewloe/Airbus and The Matchroom Llanelli respectively. Alex Taubman qualified again, despite a scare against Matthew Roberts who was leading 2-0 after a fine 110 in the opening frame before Alex knuckled down and crossed the line to set up a qualifying play off against Rhys Williams. Jack Bradford also made it through after beating Mitch Roberts 3-0 and Nathan Davenport 3-2. The third qualifier this time is Richard King, who beat Daniel Gorton 3-1, Mike Dorey 3-2 and the hugely improved Bradley Ferguson 3-2.

The West Area qualifiers were Rhydian Richards, Jamie Clarke and Tyler Rees. Rhydian comfortably beat Paul Thomas and Tom Rees. He also recorded the highest break of the day with a fine run of 91. Jamie Clarke dropped just one frame beating Lee Niblett, Jordan Stiens and Ben Jones. Sixteen years old Tyler was pushed all the way by Simon Morgan in Round One before beating twice Welsh Champion Andrew Pagett by three frames to one in the second round. In the qualifying match Tyler overcame Dean Thomas who had earlier beaten Dale Hughes and Alan Hurley.
