EBSA 2016 - Mens 6 Reds, End of Day 1

The first day of the 2016 6 Reds tournament has come to an end and the Welsh players have made it out of the Group Stage.

Rhys Thomas (Group B), Darren Morgan (Group E) and Jack Bradford (Group P) all won 3 matches from 3, so will head their groups. Alex Taubman was 2 wins from 3 but also heads Group C by virtue of frames won/lost. Andrew Pagett completes the field, coming a very close second to Lukas Kleckers in Group K, having also won 2 from 3.

However Andrew tops the breaks table with a total clearance of 81. His opponent broke off and managed to pot the yellow on the way back into baulk, snookering Andrew behind the respotted yellow in the process. Andrew took brown to centre as his free ball, followed up with the blue and then cleared reds with blacks and all the colours for a break that will be difficult to beat in the remainder of the competition. He also had a fine 71 in another frame, rescuing the clearance with a long green when snookered on the black.

Good luck in the knockout stages in the morning gents, we'll be watching with interest.
