Under 16s Event One - Results

A good turnout at Penarth Road snooker club in Penarth for the first under 16 event of the season. Seventeen entries and good to see a couple of new faces especially a young player from Aberystwyth. Ethan Rowbotham enjoyed his first ever competition especially as he came from two frames down to beat Welsh International Oscar Vaughan by three frames to two.

Liam Davies again impressed with a lovely 57 break in losing to his old foe Alfie Davies. They always seem to draw each other.

Another new face Ieuan Richards of Caerphilly enjoyed a good win over Welsh International Jacob Boyle again by three frames to two.

In the quarters Ieuan shocked World under 18 champion Jackson Page by taking the first frame but Jackson stepped up a gear and rattled off the next three frames to reach the semis. No other shocks in the quarters with all three players winning 3-0.

The semis was much the same with both top seeds winning easily 3-0.

The final was an edgy affair with the first two frames closely fought and the first two frames were shared. The decisive moment came in frame three when Dylan led by 40 points Jackson then stepped in with a 66 clearance to take the frame and sealed the match 3-1 and his third Welsh junior event on the bounce.
