Mens Event Two - Results

The qualifiers from the three regional heats met up at the recently upgraded Wexa Crumlin, for what turned out to be a momentous day.

Event One winner Kishan Hirani drew Richard King, winning frame 1 easily with a well taken 80 break but Richard unlucky not to take either of the following two frames to bow out 3-0. Last year's Welsh #1 Alex Taubman was taken to a deciding frame by Rhydian Richards before coming through, whilst Nathan Davenport proved too hot for Jamie Clarke to keep at bay. Jordan Steins also took Jackson Page to a deciding frame, before being pipped by the youngster.

The semi finals were quite a feast of snooker. Nathan took a 2-0 lead over Kishan before he pulled one back, however it wasn't to be and Nathan's incredibly calm temperament left him well placed to take frame 4 and the win. Jackson took an early lead over Alex, but as for the quarter finals it went to the decider. A brave double on the brown set Jackson up to take blue, pink and match.

The final was a tense affair, with neither player wanting to fall behind. Unsurprisingly this led to yet another decider. A brilliant thin-cut blue and position on the pink left Nathan a tricky black for the match, however it was not to be. A brief safety exchange later and the confidence of youth saw Jackson take the win.

We would like to thank Wexa Sports for their support on the day, taking this event at short notice and commend them on the new facility, which can only improve with the plans ahead. We'll be back!
