Under 21s Event Five - Results

Ten entries meant two preliminary matches to complete the quarter final line up. With two quarter finals also starting at the same time, Dylan Emery was the first into the semi finals overoming Callum Matthews 3 nil.

Suraj Sigh won 3 nil against Josh White to set up a quarter final with number one seed Jackson Page. Tyler Rees made breaks of 87 and 52 against Ryan Rowlands when taking his place in the semi finals. Liam Davies completed the quater final line up winning 3-1 against Lewis Sinclair.

Jackson was the next player to get to the semis with a 3 nil win over Suraj. Ben Fortey overcame Liam Davies 3 nil needing to dig deeply after being 40 plus points behind then making a 35 clearance to take the third frame. All this meant that the top 4 in the rankings were in the semi finals and with only 80 ranking points separating them there was all to play for.

Ben overcame Dylan by 3 frames to nil with Dylan not finding his earlier form. Tyler continued to play solidly and after sharing the first two frames with Jackson he then took the third and made a 61 break in the fourth to reach the final on the eve of his 18th birthday.

Tyler seemed to be maintaining his form by taking the first two frames of the final with Ben looking below par. However, Ben seemed to find a new lease of life and took the next two frames to make it all square. In the final frame Ben was in first with a break of 33. Tyler clawed back the lead making 19 then 14 and 15 to put him 15 points in front with one red left. After some safety play Ben took his chance and made 26 to the pink to win the match and deny Tyler the birthday present he was looking for.

After this event Ben is now number one in the rankings, Jackson Page is number two with Dylan Emery and Tyler Rees in joint third place.
