Mens Event 5 - Finals

Ammanford Snooker World was the venue for the last Mens finals of this season, where it was another productive day for Rhydian Richards who continued his rich vein of form by claiming victory with a consistent display of scoring. A scrappy affair in an all North Wales clash saw Matthew Roberts overcome Nathan Davenport 3-1, whereas all three other quarter-final matches finished 3-0. Jackson Page had 58 and 63 in beating Ben Jones, and Rhydian Richards had 59 and 70 to beat young Dylan Emery 3-0. Andrew Pagett won the 2nd frame on the black but was otherwise untroubled with a 3-0 win against Leon Evans.

The semi-final between Jackson and Andrew saw some good scoring with Pagett leading 2-0 with runs of 58, 43 and 40 before Jackson pulled one back. On a run of 61 Jackson looked set to level at 2-2 but a tricky miss on the final red into the right middle saw Andrew step in with a 33 clearance, to win 3-1. In the semi-final a high break of 86 saw Rhydian win comfortably 3-0 against Matthew.

The final was a closely fought affair with the final frame with the score at 2-1 proving to be the most exciting, Rhydian got in with 67 before Andrew clawed his way back into the frame. Andrew was looking set to clear but a tricky miss on the final green resulted in a tough bout of safety from which Rhydian eventually prevailed to win 3-1.
