IBSF 2017 - World Mens and Masters Days 1 and 2

Qatar Is again the venue for the IBSF Mens and Masters and things got underway at the weekend. We are well represented by Andrew Pagett, Matthew Roberts, Jack Bradford and Rhydian Richards in the Mens, with Elfed Evans, Darren Morgan and Emyr Humphries competeing for the Masters title.

Andrew was runner up last time around and has started with a bang, winning 4-0 and 4-1 to top group A. In group C, Matthew took his opening tie 4-2, narrowly missed out 2-4 in match 2 and was similarly unlucky in his third match, going down 1-4. Jack has had 2 group D matches so far, two tight affairs going against him 2-4 and 3-4. In group G, Rhydian lies joint top having won 2 from 3, two 4-3 wins and a 3-4 defeat in a real ding-dong high scoring match with Iraqi player Alijalil Ali.

Group A of the Masters sees Elfed atop the table with three 3-0 voctories. Darren lies second in group C but has a game in hand over the leader, having dropped one frame of the 7 played so far. Emyr finally got his campaign underway today in group K with a hard opening match with John Farrel in the Republic of Ireland with John leaving Emyr no reasonable chances as Emyr went down 0-3.

A few of the players hit the tables early morning tomorrow, hopefully some more good results will bolster their chances of making the knock out stages.
