Welsh Men's Event 2 - Qualifiers

It was cold and raining outside, but it was red hot inside on the well prepared tables at Snooker World Ammanford. Three Century breaks was the highlight of the day.

It all started with Anthony Krysa's 141 clearance and a 56 against in his first round match with new recruit to welsh ranking events Jamie Gimblett winning 3-0.

But it was short lived in round 2 when he met on fire Duane Jones. Duane scored hits with a 57, 64 and 111. Although Anthony came back with a 77 and 44 it was to no avail and Duane went out a 3-1 winner. Also beating distance traveller Bryn Devonald from Haverfordwest 3-0 to qualify.

Jamie Clarke also had a very inspired day with a very tight match with a much improved Tom Rees with a break of 84 and winning 3-2. Jamie went up a gear in round 2 against David John with breaks of 54, 55 and 114 winning 3-1.  Went on to win a tighter third round match 3-2 against Ben Jones to qualify.

Third group qualifier was a much improved Kristian Phelps. Completing his first match win 3-0 with Matthew Williams wth a 95 break missing a simple green with a 120 on. Round 2 was a tougher match against Stephen Ellis but managed a 3-2 win. The final qualifying match with Simon Williams was a more relaxed affair and went out with a 59 break to win 3-1.
