Under 18s Event 5 - Results

Twelve entires meant 4 matches with 4 seeds into the quarter finals. The top half of the draw saw both Olivers - Briffett-Payne and Bridle come though against Ciaran Paul and Jacob Boyle respectively.

The bottom half of the draw went very much with recent form with Rhys Morgans winning against Bradley Tyson and Alfie Davies beating Luke James.

Dylan Emery quickly booked his place in the semi final with a 3 nil win against the young and improvng Oliver Briffett-Payne.  Callum Matthews also had a quick match by beating Rhys Morgans 3 nil. Liam Davies - fresh from winning the under 14 Championship beat Oliver Bridle 3-1 while Alfie Davies had a tough encouter with Conor Caniff winnng 3-1 to complete the semi final line up.

In the first semi final Dylan Emery's greater experience showed as he won 3 nil against Liam Davies while the other semi final was a much more closely fought encounter. This match produced the highest breaks of the day in a nip and tuck match with Alfie making breaks of 41 and 82 while Callum made a break of 62 in the deciding frame after being behind for most of the match.

The final did produce some entertainng snooker with Callum taking the first frame comfortably by 45 points.  Dylan made breaks of 49 and 29 to take the second frame.  The third frame was a very close affair with Callum taking all the colours to win the frame on the black. Callum then went on to make a break of 37 in the fourth frame to seal the win.
