Recently the Welsh pairs took place at Redz

With a strong field on the day, the final was guaranteed to be a quality affair. Matthew Farrant and Byron Philips faced Mike Hodge and Paul Morgan for the honours.

All day Mike Hodge had been in fine form, so it goes without saying that Matthew and Byron had their work cut out. Cometh the hour and all that though, Matthew was in similarly fine form, allowing Byron to take a more defensive role to help create chances for Matthew, several of which were converted into 50+ breaks on the day.

In the end, Mattew and Byron ran out deserving 3-1 winners
