Jones Wins Welsh Under 21's Event 2

Duane Jones won his first junior event of the season by coming out on top of this the second Under 21's event.

Duane was in tremendous form all day as he defeated junior internationals Rhys Thomas, Daniel Norris, Kristian phelps and Dale Lawrence to reach the final.

Jamie Clarke came through the top half of the draw, reaching the final by reversing the result in their Under 21's event 1 semi final against the in form Travis Furnish.

It is worth mentioning that Travis has no access to private transport and is showing tremendous dedication and determination by making his own way to events by train and bus then getting back home to Cardiff again. Surely there is someone out there who could give him a lift?

The final, between probably Wales top two junior players went Duane's way as he ran out an easy 3-0 winner on this occasion.

The standard of play was excellent throughout the day in the very good conditions of Ammanford Snooker club. (A huge thank you to Dai Luce for allowing us the use of his facilities).

A string of high breaks were recorded including a magnificent 139 by Jamie Clarke. This break equalled his own Welsh Junior record break which he made a season or two ago.

Travis Furnish retains no#1 spot on the ranking list on 430 points followed by Duane Jones on 380 then Jamie Clarke on 360.
