Under 14s Event 2

It was nice to see a couple of new faces in the draw for this event. Theo Manny (Caerphilly) looks to have some potential but met the more experienced Oliver Phillips in the quarter final and went out 3-0. William Shadrach survived an early scare from 7 year old Jamie WIlliams, who took frame 1 of their quarter final and went in off the black in frame 3 to go 1-2 down to William. However, William took the fourth frame convincingly. William was beaten by fellow under 14s international Oliver in a close fought encounter 3-2.

In the other half of the draw, the very promising Riley Powell came through 3-0 against newcomer William Gwinnell then reached the final with a 3-1 victory over Harry Armstrong.

The final was a very entertaining affair with both under 14s international team mates “going for their shots.” On this occasion though, it was Riley who came out on top claiming a 3-1 win and his first ranking event victory.

The Plate Competition was won by Theo Manny who beat fellow newcomer William Gwinnell 2-1 in
the final.
