IBSF 2019 Men and Masters - Day 1

This year's IBSF tournament takes place in Antalya, Turkey and got underway today with some strong performances from the Welsh.

Mens

Group A features David Donavan, who drew #1 seeded Thanawat Tirapongpaiboon of Thailand, who was on fine form and unfortunately for David took the match 4-0. In Group B however, Ben Fortey handed out a 4-0 drubbing to Czech player Tomas Kubicek, including breaks of 80, 45 and 41. Matthew Roberts won by the same scoreline in Group J, although by his own admission he didn't really get going properly. Gavin Lewis fought hard in Group Q, but ultimately lost out 2-4 to his opponent, Jefrey Roda. Anthony Krysa has yet to play a match.

Masters

Darren Morgan got his championship defence off to a fine start, with a 3-0 Group A win over Johny Moermans from Belgium. Of the remaining Welshmen (Tony Morgan, Alun Squire, Steven Thomas and Wayne Morgan), only Tony has been in action, narrowly losing 1-3 to Austrian Richard Kornberger.
