Welsh Amateur Ranking Event 3 - Finals

The third ranking event of the Welsh Calendar took place over the last 8 days, with qualifying numbers evenly split between North and South Wales.

In the Quarter Finals, Anthony Krysa and Elfed Evans both had difficulty with the Star table in Llanelli, but Anthony managed to settle and ran out a 3-1 winner.

Keith Thomas was up against it in his match with ex pro Darren Morgan. Keith had no answer to Darren's tactical play (usually Keith's own strength) and went out 3-0

Alex Taubman had an off day against fellow International Ben Jones and had no reply to a 0-3 result.

The Dylan Emery/Steve Thomas match was an interesting match with Dylan going ahead in the first 2 frames including a 71 break. Steve clawed his way backto draw level at 2-2 and Steve gathered momentum in the decider, clearing on the colours to take the frame and match 3-2.

Semi finals: -

The Anthony Krysa/Darren Morgan match was a close encounter with scores at 2-2 and Anthony  drawing ahead, missed the last red for a chance to win the match and Darren cleared to win 3-2.

Steve was on a high after his win over Dylan in the quarters and Ben couldn't see his way ahead of Steve and succumbed to a 3-1 loss.

The Final.

This looked like it was going to be interesting match with both playing well in previous rounds but Darren
had other ideas. With a 67 break in the first frame, a 72 in the second and finished the match off with a 73 in the last, all Steve could do was sit and admire the white control of his apponent as Darren took the match 3-0
