Welsh Amateur Ranking Event 4, European

Welsh Amateur Ranking Event 4 concluded recently, with Dylan Emery taking the win and taking top spot in the ranking list.

In the quarter finals, Tyler Rees and Alex Taubman slugged out a tight match, with Tyler eventually coming out top 3-2. Darren Morgan and Elfed Evans  faced each other again. Darren proved to be in the better form on the day and the 3-1 scoreline a fair reflection. Tyler and Darren had another long match, Darren coming out the victor 3-2 with breaks of 58 and 48 to Tyler's 46.

The lower half of the draw saw Rhydian Richards up against Thomas Lancastle, another match that went the distance before Rhydian ran out the winner. Dylan Emery faced first time qualifier Elgan Hughes, Dylan winning the tie 3-0. Dylan booked his spot in the final with a 3-1 win over Rhydian, assisted by a break of 73.

The final was tough match for both Darren and Dylan so it should be no surprise that it went to the wire. Both players kept their form flowing, Darren with two breaks of 69 and Dylan with a 52. Dylan took the title in the fifth frame, clearing pink and black to win by a single point
