Under 16s Event 5 Results

Storm Dennis tried but failed to stop the players from travelling from far and wide for Event 5 of the calendar. The only absentee was Elliott Rees who unfortunately was unwell.

The draw threw up the twist of the day saw a preliminary match with the Number 1 (Liam Davies) drawn against the Number 2 (Oliver Briffett-Payne) in the rankings. The match did not disappoint as it took a final frame decider for Liam to edge out his closest rival. The other preliminary match also went to the wire with the improving  Harry Armstrong narrowly missing out to the more experienced Oliver Phillips.

The highlight of the Quarter Final was Liam Davies showing his growing class with his first Welsh junior century break with a superb 101 clearance. From that time he cruised into the Final without dropping another frame.

In the other half of the draw Dainton Barrass reached his first final of the season with a very narrow victory over Jamie Reader.

The final proved one step too far for Dainton with Liam playing at his very best compiling breaks of 42 and a 55 clearance cruising to a 3 frames to nil victory.
