Under 18s European Qualifier Results

The Under 18s descended on Cue Snooker Club, Aberaman on the 5th December to play for the priviledge of representing Wales in the next EBSA event, scheduled for April 2022.

It all started well for Liam Davies. He opened the day against the fast improving Zac Cosker. The tie went Liam's way 3-0, with Liam missing the 14th red on a potential maximum in the third frame with everyone in the room watching silently. Oliver Briffett-Payne also made his way through round 1 by 3-0, seeing off Ryan Davies. Riley Powell and Dainton Barass went to the wire in their match, with Riley coming out a 3-2 winner.

The semi finals pitched Liam against Jack Annalls, with the end result another 3-0 to Liam, although Jack was a lot closer than the scoreline suggests. Ollie faced Riley and Ollie was soon 2-0 ahead. Riley showed maturity beyond his years to tie the match. Ollie however took the decider to set up another final with Liam.

Liam started in much the same way as he had all day and pulled out a 2-0 lead, but Ollie dug deep and levelled the tie. The deciding frame was nip and tuck initially, but an error from Ollie let Liam in and he made sure of the result.
