Under 18s Event 5 Results

Darren Morgan's Red Triangle club played host to our 5th U18s events of the season.

With 8 players in the mix, the 4 Quarter Final encounters saw Ollie Briffett-Payne beat Ryan Davies 3 v 0; which included a 52 break. Liam Davies beat Dainton Barrass 3 v 0 and Riley Powell beat debutant Jay Pelopida by the same score. The last match of the round saw a determined Jack Annalls beat Zac Cosker 3 v 1. Jack’s victory over Zac ensuring he moves into 4th place in this season’s U18 rankings.

With 8 players and 4 tables, the TD added a Plate competition for the losing Quarter-Finalists to give them all more table time and keep everyone involved throughout the day.

The Plate Semi Finals saw Zac beating Ryan 3 v 0 and Dainton beating Jay by the same scoreline. All good experience for Jay and he certainly proved to everyone that he can compete at this level.

In the main event, Ollie beat Jack 3 v 1 and Liam and Riley’s Semi final proved the clash of the round with Liam taking the decider which included a 58 break.

In the Plate final, the match went all the way with Zac beating Dainton in the deciding frame.

In the main event and on live stream, a one-sided affair saw Liam beat Ollie 3 v 0 in just over an hour, including a 44 break to take the victory and Liam continues his dominance at this level.

A great day on the baize with extra table time too for the first round losers. We thank Darren as always for his hospitality and giving up his club to host our events and we also thank the player’s parents and families for their ongoing support.
