Home Internationals - Welsh Under 16's & 19's 2013

Under 16sWales Under 16s finished a creditable 3rd in this age group. Despite fielding a somewhat inexperienced team our lads put in some good performances including a  7-5 win against a strong England B team and a narrow 7-5 defeat against winners England A.

Home international débutantes Jack Martin and Jordan Bowd both showed real skill and determination in winning 4 out of 5 matches.

Under 19sWales Under 19's started the championship with a super 10-2 victory over the Rep. Ireland and followed this up with wins over France and N. Ireland. However, a very strong England team proved to be too good on the day beating us 9-3 before we secured runners up spot with a close 7-5 victory over Scotland.

Tyler Rees just failed to maintain an unbeaten record when he lost his final frame in his final match against Scotland. The more experienced Tom Rees also showed what a talented player he is by winning 4 out of 5 matches all with 3-0 scorelines.

John Dobson said we would have won this event if it wasn't for such a strong England team but I was extremely proud of both Welsh Junior teams. Every player conducted themselves impeccably both on and of the table and were a credit to themselves and Welsh Snooker.
