IBSF - World Under 18s Day 1

The IBSF World Under 18s has got underway today, with seven of our youngsters making the trip to Belgium to compete.

Group A features Jackson Page in amongst some strong competitors and saw him losing out 1-3 to Ka Wai Cheung of Hong Kong. In group B Josh White was beaten 3-0 by the Czechoslovakian Ales Herout. Belgian player Brent Geentjens was unable to do much about Dylan Emery's form as Dylan made relatively short work of his Group E match 3 frames to 1. In Group F, Liam Davies showed another Belgian, Nick Jansen, how to play the game with a fine 3-0 win.

In Group H, European U18 Champion Tyler Rees beat Kendrew Oei of Holland 3-1 and then Russian player Mikhail Terekhov 3-2, in which Tyler had two notable breaks of 80 and 81. Lewis Sinclair has been landed with a tough group and lost to Shrikrishna Suryanarayanan of India and Scottish amateur champion Chris Totten, both 0-3. Last of the Magnificent Seven is Brad Ferguson in Group M. Brad's opening match was against Romanian youngster Tudor Popescu, who ran in an 89 break. Brad's second match followed on shortly after, with Florian Nüßle of Austria proving to be too tough today. Both matches went against Brad 0-3.

Tomorrow sees the boys in action again.
